《西方哲学史》是英国现代数学家、哲学家伯特兰·罗素创作的讲述西方哲学发展历史的著作。全书共3卷，全面地介绍了从古希腊罗马时期到20世纪中叶西方哲学的发展过程。第1卷讲的是古代哲学的产生与发展。第2卷讲到天主教哲学从兴起到壮大，最后衰落的历史。第3卷主要讲述近代哲学的发展过程。从文艺复兴时期到科学的兴盛期，再到19世纪思潮的猛烈涌动。作者最后提出了逻辑分析哲学。《西方哲学史》和黑格尔的《哲学史讲演录》是对中国西方哲学史研究产生重大影响的两部著作，也是大多数人了解西方哲学的首选读物，整个西方社会文化传统的理论结晶。
作者介绍
伯特兰·罗素（Bertrand Russell），英国哲学家、逻辑学家、文学家，分析哲学的主要创始人，同时也是活跃的政治活动家，并致力于哲学的大众化、普及化。罗素一生写下了60多部著作和大量的文章，对20世纪的思想文化和社会生活产生了巨大的影响。1908年当选皇家学会会员。1950年被授予诺贝尔文学奖。主要作品有《西方哲学史》《哲学问题》《心的分析》《物的分析》。
