作者介绍
汤显祖，字义仍，号海若、清远道人、若士、茧翁，书斋号玉茗堂，江西抚州府临川县（今抚州市临川区）人。生于明嘉靖二十九年八月十四日（公历1550年9月24日）。嘉靖四十二年（1563）成秀才。隆庆四年（1570）中举。万历十一年（1583）中进士，十二年八月赴任南京太常寺博士，十六年改南京詹事府主簿，十七年升南京礼部祠祭司主事。万历十九年闰三月上《论辅臣科臣疏》，五月贬广东徐闻县典史。九月赴贬所，二十年回到临川家中，年底晋京，量移浙江遂昌知县。万历二十一年三月到任，在任奖励农耕，抑制豪强，兴建相圃书院。万历二十六年初在北京上计后向吏部告假归里，万历二十九年正月吏部大计，被以“浮躁”名义正式罢职，自此闲居，万历四十四年六月十六日（公历1616年7月29日）去世。
